Training and Education
BA (hons) in Acting with Creative Enterprise
NewClanArts (QMU) 2022-25
Kane's training has been somewhat of a 'hybrid'. with his first two years of training he specialised in musical theatre. this style of training, with a focus on triple threat performers versed in acting, singing, and dancing helped Kane to expand his knowledge on a variety of areas in performance.
for his 3rd year, Kane decided to bring his training into a more focused view and specialise in acting. this has allowed him to really delve into the practice of performance and find his identity as a performer and creative through study and work.
SSLC Pantomime in
conjunction with NewClanArts
For the past two years, Kane has had the opportunity to work alongside the amazing company of creatives producing the SLLC Pantomime in Hamilton and Rutherglen. This experience allowed him to have hands on experience working in a professional environment, something extremely beneficial at such an early point in his training. The chance to work on such a high demanding job gave Kane critical skills in ensemble work and performance stamina.
Gomez in
"The Addams Family" with NewClanArts
This being his first full-scale production while in training, Kane jumped at the chance to tackle a role like Gomez. Such an immense role required the highest level of preparation and dedication. Taking part in this production allowed Kane to expand his knowledge and approach when approaching a character. Leading a show does not come without its challenges, and tackling these helped Kane to build on the foundation of his skills as a performer and creative.
The Duchess in
"Alice by Heart"
with NewClanArts
Stepping in to emergency casting for this production was a new challenge for Kane and an unexpected turn in his training. The requirement of learning a track in a very limited amount of time helped him to expand upon his professional practice, stamina and quick thinking as a performer. although this style of character was not new to him, Kane used the opportunity to fine-tune his practice in approaching a character.
